Analyst Development Program (ADP) not recommended - Analyst Development Program Liberty Mutual Insurance Employee Review

Pros

- Work/life balance: about 30-hour work week for rotation work, plus extra hours for side projects and ADP committees - Training on Excel, SAS, and Power BI instead of jumping straight in

Cons

- Job posting can be misleading. This is not a "data science" role, it's a data analyst role - No guarantee of placement role type, which can be detrimental early in career. For example, you may be placed into a role that's mostly regulatory with little data analysis - The program isn't very respected among Liberty employees, especially outside of the Product org. In most other companies that have post-college rotational programs, the programs appear to be much more prestigious - Interviewers (both peers and experienced Liberty employees) can be biased. I have personally seen 2 candidates get rejected from the program because of biases related to protected classes

Pros

They still care about DEI.

Cons

Mgmt micromanages to extremes. They have performance metrics that are not in writing anywhere and are completely subjective so if a manager doesn't like you, they just score you low. They have introduced countless processes and templates which increase time needed to work on a claim but have done nothing to lower the amount of claims you're expected to handle. Seriously, run away from this place like all the adjusters are trying to!
