Pros

Company is fantastic as a company. Great FTO, and compensation. This organization was always a great place to live a great life.

Cons

Unfit leaders, promoted pets and people who have grown in the ranks with no other experience other than LM, its sad that they even get people in the TA department. The humor is in the leadership driving the current changes. None have a bit of experience doing the changes they are currently doing ( they simply do not have any experience outside of Liberty Mutual in their current roles), and its really damaging to the company , which is a reflection on Melanie! TA needs a complete rebuild. All the Leadership, and I mean ALL of the PP&B area. They are not qualified to perform the roles they are doing and making decisions to protect themselves. Too may pets getting promotions, overlooking talent, not processing the right people to the leadership roles, cutting the wrong people, leaving the staff that will not challenge the leaders, very much a mess. Our TA Department has leaders that are not quality leaders and extremely green. Liberty has the worst leadership teams I have seen in TA. The current leaders Jen and Shawn both need to go, they promote their pets and do not promote the right talent, but the safe talent that will not eliminate or challenge them in their roles. Entire TA organization is a disaster in the making. Barnum and Bailey ( Jen and Shawn) and all of their pet projects control the TA team and its the worst I've seen yet. I think it is time to brush up the resume myself since all the new reqs are piling up!

Pros

Liberty Mutual genuinely lives its people-first values. I have real work-life balance and feel trusted and supported by both leadership and my peers. The culture is inclusive - I can bring my full, authentic self to work every day, and the Employee Resource Groups create true community and belonging. The growth opportunities are endless: between internal mobility, Short-Term Assignments (STAs), mentorship programs, and cross-functional projects, I've been able to build new skills and visibility across the enterprise well beyond my core role. The company invests in your development and genuinely wants to see you succeed.

Cons

With so many opportunities, committees, and ERGs to get involved in, it's easy to take on too much. Being intentional about where you focus your time is key to protecting that great work-life balance. It's a large enterprise, so it can take time to learn how to navigate all the resources and pathways available. More centralized visibility into open STAs and mobility opportunities would make them even easier to pursue.
