Pros
In the beginning there were many pros. Support, morale was high, felt appreciated, adequate training, competitive pay but that all changed very quickly with out of touch management.
Cons
Discrimination, associates paid illegally under the table by the reps they work for, they are told it is illegal but then are told it is highly recommended. Reps make their own pay incentive to their sales associates. One sales associate can earn $100 paid private through venmo, while another sales associate could be paid $300 by their rep for selling the same amount of premium. Some reps pay their sales associates only in gift cards. This made an extremely toxic and volatile work place and not mention it is very illegal to be paid incentives "under the table." You will also be made to perform unethical business practices due to your rep just wanting to "win" the sale although it is not what is best for the customer. The only aspect they are worried about is how much commission you make them when you yourself make no commission. You are required to rewrite insurance policies to potentially decrease a customer's premium to sell them another line of insurance they do not have with LM. We are told to tell the customer we are unable to give the lower rate if they don't take out another line of insurance LM offers. This is even done after you have to take learning modules saying that this practice is not allowed. But if you don't do it, they will get rid of you. Management is horrible and is only concerned with what you can do for them financially since they get commission based on what reps and sales associates sell. If you don't sell over quota, you are useless to them and they will be of no help. Training is non existent and usually passed on to sales associates even when it is not in the job role and is not compensated. In fact you will be pulled aside and berated for your production even though more has been added to your plate due to the fact management is too lazy to do their job and train. I went to management to ask if he could please train the new employee, and was told the new employee wasn't worth it and some people aren't cut out for this job. The new employee training fell all into my lap because of his "feelings" even though it was nowhere in my job role and never got compensated for it. This happened numerous times during my 8 years. I won't even get into the sexism that exists in that office and entire company and also the sexual escapades between reps and employees that work for them. I cannot stress enough how toxic they willingly make the environment. Reps and Management will run you down to feel like you are nothing and that's not even taking into consideration the illegal practices you are made to participate in or you will lose your job.
