Pros

Base compensation is fair if you were there for a long period of time.

Cons

Agents have a shelf life. If they want to get rid of you they will find a way. Performance after performance plan. If you beat the performance plan and succeed from that now they go to the next step is to micromanage. Obviously as an individual always speak up for yourself and then when you do they get you on an unexpected call. Agents be aware!! Also each supervisor has different interpretations on the rules of the company and sales strategies. No matter how long you’ve been there or how well you have done; believe me you are just a number. I know this for sure due to the fact they sent an email with my name miss spelled multiple times and I may have the easiest name that is national known. Commission structure changes every quarter. And it will not be for the employees benefit. Now they will tell you to keep the company going. But do your research and check upper management bonus through that time. Advise if you’re an agent dominate and leave the dept. as soon as you can. The stress is not worth it each time you speak someone and then a month later they expect you to remember your call. Also if your time is going to end they never want to be held liable and they request that discussions are not recorded which is odd b/c they record everything on their end.

Pros

Liberty Mutual genuinely lives its people-first values. I have real work-life balance and feel trusted and supported by both leadership and my peers. The culture is inclusive - I can bring my full, authentic self to work every day, and the Employee Resource Groups create true community and belonging. The growth opportunities are endless: between internal mobility, Short-Term Assignments (STAs), mentorship programs, and cross-functional projects, I've been able to build new skills and visibility across the enterprise well beyond my core role. The company invests in your development and genuinely wants to see you succeed.

Cons

With so many opportunities, committees, and ERGs to get involved in, it's easy to take on too much. Being intentional about where you focus your time is key to protecting that great work-life balance. It's a large enterprise, so it can take time to learn how to navigate all the resources and pathways available. More centralized visibility into open STAs and mobility opportunities would make them even easier to pursue.
