Pros
I worked for Liberty for a total of 4 years from 2014 until last Spring. As a full-time student and part-time employee, my job was a perfect balance between school and work. The people I worked alongside for my 4 years were incredible, some of my best friends were people I worked beside every single day. My schedule was flexible and I believe I received adequate compensation for my job as a student worker.
Cons
I arrived at LU in 2012 and have seen the administration at Liberty take a sharp nose-dive since I first stepped foot on campus. There are more beautiful buildings then when I started my freshman year at Liberty, but I loved the atmosphere and overall campus culture more back in 2012. I believe this is due to poor administration at the head of the University. I truly believe Jerry Jr. is a smart businessman but I have never seen a good leader who cannot admit he was wrong. Jerry (and much of the LU administration) are simply incapable of admitting they are wrong. Always a cover-up - Jerry can do no wrong. This is a toxic mindset. Jerry has shifted the culture at Liberty from “Training Champions for Christ” to “Training Champions for Trump” - what a joke. In my experience, the professors at Liberty are the rockstars of the university. However, they are not monetarily treated this way. Please, pay full time faculty and staff more. They deserve every penny. I would recommend working at Liberty for only those seeking to further their education. I would never encourage someone to begin a lifelong career at LU due to poor pay and poor leadership.
