LifeLine Ambulance (IL)

Is this your company?

Once was the least of all the Chicago Evils we know as private ambulance providers. Not any more. - Paramedic LifeLine Ambulance (IL) Employee Review

Pros

No major hospital accounts yet, so the calls are still good (you get to use your skills). Vehicles and supplies are very well maintained. One of two bosses is very easy to talk to.

Cons

I'll start with the general ones that apply to all privates: Low pay, little respect, no room for advancement. Beyond this, one owner in particular is obsessed with micromanaging. This has led to cameras AND microphones in every single area of the ambulance with a 24hour stream that can be looked at at any time by the owners. They even have hired a babysitter now that rides around with crews to make sure everyone is doing their job correctly (because the cameras are not enough). They have money to hire someone full time to do this, yet a paramedic with lots of experience makes barely more than the barista at Starbucks.
