Pros

CE opportunities are great. Generally speaking, the field staff is really awesome but you have to be when you work in the trenches together. Plan on a 12-16 hour shift, it's a given, you shouldn't expect to get off on time working in EMS. The community is awesome and the job itself is wonderful work of heart. PRN employees only have to work once every 6 weeks or as much as they want if there is a need and they can choose work split shifts or just come in for transfers. Uniforms are provided.

Cons

No room for advancement, no retention plan, you are replaceable and they'll straight up tell you that. Pay isn't tiered and varies with no apparent consideration for experience, certifications or years of company service, and red flag, "you're not supposed to talk about pay." You have to watch your time card. If you stay late or are asked to come in early your time will get rolled to your "scheduled time," and it's up to you to catch it when it happens. Mandatory call shifts about 2 a month. Time off request are nearly impossible, you have to get your shifts covered but as I mentioned in the pro's, the ground crew has some really good dedicated people.
