Pros

-The children are great despite their challenges -There's a lot of opportunity here to gain exposure within the field -Some staff members were passionate about their work

Cons

-Lack of clear communication and direction from supervisors, making expectations unclear -Minimal support or training was provided, which made it difficult to grow in the role. -Feedback was inconsistent and not always constructive, leaving little opportunity for improvement. -Limited professional development opportunities and little structure for interns. -Work environment at times felt unsupportive, with more focus on pointing out mistakes than helping interns succeed -Sudden termination practices without prior warning or a meaningful chance to address concerns

Pros

Working with the students is the only positive of the role.

Cons

Poor supervision, no support. Therapists are expected to maintain high caseloads with students who have a high level of need. Clinical director and school administration seem to have very different opinions about how to support students and manage classroom behaviors. Students are allowed to be physical with other students and staff without adequate response.
