Pros
Benefits are pretty good. Health benefits are BCBS with 3 plans to choose from (HDHP and 2 PPO). Dental, Life, LTD, 401K. Training staff are excellent and supportive. Some flexibility with work schedule. Management pretty good with PTO requests. Worked remotely.
Cons
Training is long and intensive. It lasts for 3 months straight. You must meet production standards, and they grade your quality. Once you meet it, you will graduate to working as regular worker. However, I was always stressing over meeting the quota. There are no exceptions. The entire time I was there I never had Adobe or Rightfax. They would never get me set up. This is a must to do the job. It held me up because you have to send your work to someone to combine documents needed constantly. You get them when they can get to it. You need to fax or receive faxes. It made production very difficult. You must work quickly without errors. They grade you on it without any consideration of difficulty in research, contacting payors, and how much others before you have messed with the denials and claims you are working. Many of their claims are a mess and are in holds that are not placed in the correct work holds in Athena. Miss a step and you cannot go back and fix much of the time. You are very rushed and as soon as you hit the floor they are pushing highly complex claims people ignored on you. These take a lot of time to work if they are to be worked correctly. They expect you to spend about 3 claims minimum per hour. You must work spreadsheet projects and regular work holds for multiple facilities in different states from the first day on the floor. You are constantly having to stop and ask questions due to the convoluted workflows and instructions, which holds you up constantly. With many years of working claim denials and credit balances, they made me second guess myself constantly due to how difficult they made everything. Turnover is high. A handful of people have been there for a long time, but most throw up their hands eventually or are let go no matter how hard they work and how good their work quality is. They are only about production. They hound you about it every day, every meeting, and IM. Production, production, production! You finally just burn out. Expectations are unrealistic and work assignments are overwhelming.
