Pros

As a nurse who attempts to provide excellence in care, I can understand why LifePoint would want good patient satisfaction scores and improved quality of care using NQP initiatives.

Cons

At first, LifePoint enticed our hospital by only showing the best of what Corporate Headquarters could provide our local community. Promises were made that staffing cuts would not be made, benefits would be improved, more resources would be available for our community while paying taxes into the community since LifePoint is for profit. Well, the blinders have been lifted and staffing cuts have come. LifePoint has a set standard what they feel is adequate staffing. There is no regard to the time a nurse actually spends with patients or family members providing education, reassurance, and comfort in their time of need. No benefits are available to Part time employees. Health Care has become like working in an assembly line. Unfortunately people vary greatly in physical, emotional, and mental needs. I'm sorry that our hospital united with LifePoint 1 1/2 years ago.

Pros

Management is easy-going and mostly hands-off at this level. Senior engineers are trusted to know what they are doing and execute. Work is varied so it's not boring or tedious. Most continue to work remotely. Company is very inclusive and supportive of the whole spectrum of people, and at least appears to be focused on quality patient care.

Cons

Company is seems to be hesitant to invest in modern IT hardware and infrastructure, as well as salaries/raises.
