Pros

Making a difference with the elderly population

Cons

experience with LifeSpark. I’ve returned to work with them three times (pleading for my return), always out of a love for the residents and a commitment to providing compassionate care. I have 15 years of CNA experience and am currently building my practice as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. I hold high standards for safe, ethical care. Sadly, LifeSpark has consistently shown a pattern of disorganization, unsafe practices, and lack of respect for professional boundaries and legal scope of practice. To those considering working for LifeSpark, especially at Urbana Senior Living — proceed with caution. If you’re a CNA or other licensed worker, be aware that you may be asked to do things outside your legal scope. If you raise concerns, be prepared for possible retaliation or indifference. I sincerely hope this company reevaluates how it supports its frontline staff and makes resident care and staff safety a true priority.

Safety is always our top priority, and we take every review seriously. After conducting an internal review, we were unable to verify the concerns shared in this post. At all of our communities, including the one mentioned, team members are never asked to work outside their professional scope. Our teams are dedicated, knowledgeable, and committed to supporting residents and each other. While the work can be challenging, it is meaningful, and we’re proud of the people who make our communities strong and supportive places to live and work. We value all feedback, as it helps us continue to grow and improve. If you’re open to sharing more details, we’d welcome the opportunity to learn more at sparkon@lifespark.com.

Pros

The people are why I have stayed

Cons

It seems like upper management never knows the direction they are headed. I’ve been with the organization over 5 years and I have seen really amazing managers come and go. Sometimes it’s layoffs, other times it’s other concerns like productivity, etc. They term people in large clusters, which is always concerning however they say that “you are fine.” It is concerning to see that amount of turn over. I feel like management isn’t always placed on experience. Within senior living it’s disappointing seeing a lack of growth and development for leadership teams, which is why I think good leaders leave. I also think that the individual work loads are too high to be sustainable long term, which causes burn out.
