Thank you for sharing your heartfelt and emotion-filled response – we appreciate your honesty. We are also troubled to hear that some of our team may be experiencing this. The pandemic has certainly accelerated the need to grow our business and to serve more seniors quickly simply because we have to. We are busy because our nurses, caregivers, and team are so good at what they do that people want the experience our team is providing and we are grateful for their compassion and commitment. We also realize this can place a heavy burden, even temporarily, on our team who are going above and beyond. However, we also don’t want to jeopardize our workforce. We believe there’s a way to balance demand, growth, and your experience simultaneously and we’d love to talk further to learn from your experience. Your review is the first time we are learning of this experience and it’s important we address this immediately. Our doors are open and we want to listen, learn, and build culture-wide solutions that address the issues you share. Please reach out to our Chief People Officer, Jill Hackenmueller, directly at jhackenmueller@lifesprk.com.

Pros

The people are why I have stayed

Cons

It seems like upper management never knows the direction they are headed. I’ve been with the organization over 5 years and I have seen really amazing managers come and go. Sometimes it’s layoffs, other times it’s other concerns like productivity, etc. They term people in large clusters, which is always concerning however they say that “you are fine.” It is concerning to see that amount of turn over. I feel like management isn’t always placed on experience. Within senior living it’s disappointing seeing a lack of growth and development for leadership teams, which is why I think good leaders leave. I also think that the individual work loads are too high to be sustainable long term, which causes burn out.
