Pros

CEO is great and actually kind of inspiring (the board of directors...not so much) Relatively large amount of independence to solve problems your own way...which can many times be a con Second Life is fun, and you can be your Linden avatar

Cons

Process-wise, Sansar is a disastrous clusterF... If you are hired for this project, run away fast. I've been on many projects and have never seen one so badly run - yo-yo management, constantly shifting priorities, rarely a clear line of authority (instead, you get directives from multiple areas), constant employee turnover, and almost no oversight. Code reviews are almost unheard of. Engineers don't really work well together or want to help each other and the overall feeling is one of a sinking ship. Having to fill out reviews and evaluations every 3 months is incredibly annoying The company as a whole can't make up their mind about whether working offsite is ok or not. Hint: It is, but only if their output stays high. The working environment is horrible and the people are mostly insular and rather toxic. I've worked at many jobs, both in the game industry and outside it, and Linden is really one of the worst I've been in.

Pros

Nicest employees I've worked with but no one ends up lasting. Good vacation leave but too hard to take.

Cons

This place was honestly terrible. The people running it didn’t use the product, didn’t understand the customers, and just built whatever they felt like. Then they acted confused when everything failed. The company is run by giant egos who treated employees like used tissues. All the long time employees ended up getting “let go” because they wouldn’t act like puppets or leave because it's hopeless. Then the exact same jobs suddenly opened back up, but only in certain offices. So much for their big WFH culture. The office culture is gone and the rats are leaving the sinking ship. Linden can't increase their user base to save their lives so its only a matter of time. The head of product operations was so toxic someone wrote a fifty page Medium article about it, and the company still didn’t care. Nobody feels safe speaking up. The execs only wanted people who nodded and agreed, and they cared more about themselves than customers or employees. I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone. It was a total mess.
