Pros

For many positions at Linden Lab, the pay and benefits are competitive and appealing to those transitioning from other industries.

Cons

*Career Advancement: Throughout my career, opportunities for advancement were unclear and rarely led to meaningful growth. Despite my repeated requests to take on more projects and develop new professional skills, management consistently restricted my opportunities. Rather than fostering professional development, Linden Lab pigeonholed me, limiting my ability to grow into a well-rounded and valuable asset to the company. *Siloed Departments: At Linden Lab, I observed that departments frequently operate in isolation, largely due to the remote/hybrid workforce and a lack of leadership initiative to foster interdepartmental collaboration. I consistently pursued projects that required cross-departmental input, relying on multiple stakeholders for essential resources. Unfortunately, when collaboration did occur, outcomes were often inconsistent due to conflicting priorities and departmental goals. Throughout my career, I found that Linden Lab's leadership consistently resisted constructive feedback and any collaborative initiatives I proposed. *Crunch Culture: I was consistently subjected to unreasonable workloads and shifting deadlines due to limited company resources and inconsistent executive decision-making. Consequently, I often worked extended hours without receiving proper compensation. *Employee Protection/Transparency: Throughout my time at Linden Lab, I felt neither secure nor supported. I was often hesitant to raise personal or workplace concerns with leadership or HR, fearing retaliation or termination. Moreover, the company failed to adequately protect me from harassment, public defamation, and other internal issues with the company. Despite the challenges I faced at Linden Lab, I genuinely loved my job and the community I served. However, my efforts often felt thankless, as my contributions went largely unrecognized.

Pros

Nicest employees I've worked with but no one ends up lasting. Good vacation leave but too hard to take.

Cons

This place was honestly terrible. The people running it didn’t use the product, didn’t understand the customers, and just built whatever they felt like. Then they acted confused when everything failed. The company is run by giant egos who treated employees like used tissues. All the long time employees ended up getting “let go” because they wouldn’t act like puppets or leave because it's hopeless. Then the exact same jobs suddenly opened back up, but only in certain offices. So much for their big WFH culture. The office culture is gone and the rats are leaving the sinking ship. Linden can't increase their user base to save their lives so its only a matter of time. The head of product operations was so toxic someone wrote a fifty page Medium article about it, and the company still didn’t care. Nobody feels safe speaking up. The execs only wanted people who nodded and agreed, and they cared more about themselves than customers or employees. I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone. It was a total mess.
