-No work-life balance: Though they keep encouraging you to log off at 5, the work: employee ratio is quite mismanaged and everyone ends up working extra. If not, you are punished for not finishing 3 people's worth of work on time. A lot of policies and encouragement are to show but not exercised by the leadership -Insecure leadership: It is a very "reputation" focussed culture where leadership is more concerned about themselves than the motivation of the employees. Outspoken employees are punished. The senior leadership is clueless about the ground reality as they only interact with directors and work in a closed group- similar to a high school 'cool gang'. Politics is on another level, and in such a small org, you either flow in the wave of politics or suffer. Favouritism is so evident that they don't even try to hide it. -Self-centered managers- Managers are not vested in employee learning, they are basically worried about their own image. Some are very unempathetic to employee struggles during the pandemic. They do not invest time in grooming/growing, nurturing or motivating the employees. The regular people are considered "resources" and not "people". -Fake impression of 'cool culture'- the Koolaid that is being referred to in many comments is spot on! It's an extremely weak leadership culture hidden under the facade of 'cool culture'.
