Pros
Extremely flexible schedule with decent pay given the flexibility. Can be a laid back environment some days. Nice job if you don’t take it too seriously. Good for temporary work.
Cons
It’s really just a big mom and pop shop just like any other dealership, which means the senior management can and will do whatever they want depending on who they are in relation to the owner. This includes on the spot firing, extremely arbitrary personal tasks, and all around blatant disrespect if you aren’t in their same social circle.
It’s very easy to get taken advantage of here if you actually care about the work you do. Half of the staff in detail will be sitting down on their phones, and as long as you pick up the slack your coworkers/manager will let you work yourself to death. The necessary checks and balances for managing labor just aren’t there. (Detail pays hourly)
There is zero room for career growth here, they will NOT move you into a sales or service advisor role where you can make decent money. If you’re in detail, service, or parts, it’s likely that you’re staying on that side of the fence.
