Pros
Great technical (worked on extremely innovative products) and leadership experience if you were in specific programs that allowed growth.
Cons
Pay for performance did not exist which meant very talented, young employees would leave to get paid higher by competitors. It is also extremely hard to move up the ladder if you don't know the "right" people or do not intend to stay for 20+ years.
