Pros
I have enjoyed working here and, although the economy tanked, there are still many interesting projects. I find it personally rewarding to know I am working on something that may help my country someday.
Cons
It is true that it's hard to get promoted when you get to mid-level unless you are part of the "in" crowd, but it's slowly getting better. The new medical benefits are really horrible, especially if you have a family. There is a definite reluctance to embrace change of any sort, especially if the change will increase productivity...
