Pros

Business area and mission are compelling; engineering is so disorganized that you can do what you want, get paid, and there are no consequences. Funding secured for a next-gen product. Existing SIEM product still makes money for the company. Company once had a great culture.

Cons

Massive attrition since 2018 (many employees in engineering left; taking their knowledge/experience with them). Very poor leadership/direction; lack of organization and constant “emergencies” lead to poor solutions/repeated work. The SIEM is a poor quality software product, fully of legacy code and tech debt (e.g. VB/goto statements; core logic with no tests; heavy business logic in DB). Engineers spend a lot of time supporting the product in the field. Next-gen product engineers will be largely outsourced, leaving long-time on-shore engineers with maintenance work. Previous CEO was fired, which hurt morale. When the new executives were asked about attrition/retention, opinion was “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out” New executives in engineering cleared out experienced engineers and brought in people from their previous company (one of whom was rejected by interviewers and hired anyway), which demonstrated a lack of trust for current employees; almost like they blamed us for the state of the current product (which we had kept alive despite the tech debt that we inherited). When asked pointed questions about our future, management spouts BS as if we’re unintelligent and can’t see through it. Constant secrecy, lack of transparency, environment of mistrust, and condescension. New management style is dictatorial. New marketing of “unlimited data” is a scam; the product is limited in what it can handle adequately; they’re just no longer charging for it. It’s a matter of time before LogRhythm collapses completely.

Pros

Lower level employees are truly wonderful and are the bread and butter to what keeps this place afloat Unlimited PTO

Cons

TLDR: place is a dumpster fire, highly would not recommend working here at their current name or the name they are merging under Pay is awful Toxic work culture characterized by favoritism, micromanagement, and lack of transparency. Ineffective leadership from the senior "leaders" Atmosphere of fear and distrust instead of collaboration and open communication. Marketing has dictatorial leadership stifling innovation and creativity. High level executive often engages in online bullying of other companies. Total disregard for feedback provided during exit interviews. It's like they exist as a checkmark and not to make any change. Lack of accountability from upper management. Disconnect between upper management and the rest of the organization.
