Pros
Not only does the company continue to evolve its culture, process, & procedures, employees are given the chance to drive the process. If your experience is too limited to let you take the wheel with a client engagement, leadership will work with you to gain the experience on internal initiatives.Just be ready to step up. Hiding in the corner is NOT an option. My experience has been positive. I've been encouraged, not just allowed, to transition into different roles. I've also had senior management step up and unexpectedly offer to help with a personal non work related issue. It caught me by surprise; I've got almost 20 years in the workforce and have never had any company willing to do that.
Cons
If you are the type of person who sits in the corner in a meeting wondering how to not get noticed, this isn't for you. If you don't care that you haven't learned anything new at your job in the last year, this isn't for you. If you are scared by a challenge rather than excited, this isn't for you. You don't need to be type A career aggressive, but you will need confidence and faith in your own abilities. Downside to the culture is that the abundance of top notch talent means there are always more candidates for promotion than openings. However, you become like the people you hang out with so you will be much better positioned to move around after a few years, should you feel the need.
