Your observation that Dan and I aren't always on the same page is correct. While this can be frustrating (to us even more than to you!), I believe it's actually related to one of our strengths: we make better decisions when we're forced to defend / explain / sell our ideas to a really smart co-worker who sees things differently. I value having a VP who challenges me to make wise decisions, not waste resources, and focus on what really serves our customers best. Dan and I understand that we need to do a better job keeping the direction clear for the team after the back-and-forth is done and the idea is refined, and that's been a big priority for us in 2014.
