Pros
A handful of their severely underpaid staff are some of the loveliest people I have ever met, I wish I could have said the same about the upper management. The work environment doesn't seem half bad if the upper management likes you. You will definitely rise through the ranks if you have the right surname.
Cons
Where do I begin? Lorien (Legitimate Obvious Reason to Investigate Egoism& Nepotism). Connections are key. If upper management likes you/have worked there for 10+ years, you can do no wrong. Seriously. If you are in a position where you can do no wrong, life will be easy for you. You can easily take credit for the work of your subordinates. You can easily deceive upper management into believing your subordinates work is mediocre at best, keep them confined to their entry level title & pay so as not to call attention to the fact that your subordinate can do your job better than you (which by the way, is outside of the scope and salary range that is currently being paid to the subordinate). I worked in a position that allowed me to peek through the window of what life is like at several of the facilities. I have known intelligent & qualified individuals become the victims of threatening tones and actions by their administrators. I have heard complaints about certain administrators that could be grounds for a serious lawsuit. Although there are things that could be done to resolve these issues, those individuals live in a climate of fear and are confined to their small bubble that is "Living Lorien." It is impossible to resolve these issues or have a shift in management because most of the upper management & administrators seem to have the same last name. Weird right?
