It was become a place of just maintaining. It used to be called the golden handcuffs, now it's like walking on eggshells as you may be out. Sadly, there is tons of news that's NOT being reported. In a way, the Times is doing a disservice to community because there's a lot of corruption and crime that can't be covered due to limited resources and budgets.

Pros

The management was supportive and responsive. I never had any issues.

Cons

Pros

Good focus on long-form writing and journalism; lots of lovely people worked here and there was a nice community outside of the office; felt like a legit civic institution that people in L.A. care about.

Cons

Uneven management with unclear long-term priorities and conflicting top-down mandates. Not very willing to collaborate with the union.
