Pros

9 to 5 hours, Monday-Friday, co-workers. The supervisors I worked with were incredible fair and great to work with. Great PTO and health insurance. Plenty of opportunities for advancement.

Cons

We were located in DTLA for many years and the office was moved to El Segundo so being located in the Valley the drive was horrible. Raises are low and far between.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed working with your co-workers and supervisors and saw opportunities for advancement. Since the acquisition into private ownership in 2018 we have had annual pay reviews, and we also offer an extensive benefits package including a flexible time off plan.

Pros

The management was supportive and responsive. I never had any issues.

Cons

It is a far commute for those who are remote and need to work in the office.

Pros

Good focus on long-form writing and journalism; lots of lovely people worked here and there was a nice community outside of the office; felt like a legit civic institution that people in L.A. care about.

Cons

Uneven management with unclear long-term priorities and conflicting top-down mandates. Not very willing to collaborate with the union.
