Pros

There is nothing positive about working at Lowe's. It is worse than any other retail establishment I have worked at, besides JC Penney and Kmart.

Cons

Management is out of touch, shareholder wealth is top priority and regard for employees and customers are thrown out the window. Management does not care about the safety or quality of life of its associates. It is a corporate beast and the management have zero autonomy. Run by corporate swamp monster robots who are selfish, self-serving, and entirely clueless about the frontline of their operation. The Pro Sales setup is a joke. Archaic system. Management would rather hire teenagers at $8 an hour than keep hardworking, experienced personnel. Anyone who has any intelligence will not last here for long. Management finds a way to get rid of good people. They make it a mission to eradicate anyone who provides them with any value. Most Lowe's stores are run by gay women who are on the #metoo movement bandwagon and actively attempt to get people fired for false reasons or no reasons. It is an extremely hostile work environment. Everything I have read about the CEO and his initiatives make me look forward to the day when Lowe's sinks miserably. I unloaded all my stock, by the way, and so did my brother and sister. We had been holding stock for many years. I absolutely hate this company and would discourage anyone to work here. It will rob you of your soul.

Pros

Some amazing customers and coworkers. Tasks and systems were easy to learn. Sometimes you get lucky and have amazing ASMs and SMs. It's easy to get a good survey when you treat customers like friends, be honest about what you do and don't know, and work to learn what you don't. That goes a long way with customers. I personally truly loved my job and loved spending as much time as I could at work.

Cons

Once you are on someones S*** List they will make it possible to get rid of you. Management only follows policy when it benefits them. Some people get promoted when they have no business working in retail as a leader. The A/C in the store I worked in was always broken during the summer, which made it miserable to work. Some customers are entitled due to they way management will kiss their butts to keep from losing a sale or getting a bad review. Management will make a paper trail to write you up if you mess up or are struggling instead of helping you better yourself. Management does not care about employees' work-life balance. Management does not care if their employees are struggling with personal issues like car troubles, health issues, financial issues, etc. Management will get rid of great employees but keep people who don't pull their weight. Once I hit burnout, instead of helping me, I was punished by my managers. In turn making me hate a job I truly loved.
