Pros

They get 2 stars because HR has clearly made a concerted effort to improve benefits for it's employees, no matter how begrudgingly it is wrestled from Upper Management. They went from 2 weeks vacation to three, and a 401k was finally offered.

Cons

It's really galling to employees to hear about the company's incredible performance and growth, only to be offered a paltry amount for a 401k match. The health insurance is atrocious and continued to get worse every year. A few years ago, there was at least a co-pay with the insurance plan they offered. We were told it was too expensive and switched to a high deductible plan with no co-pay. It is essentially an out of pocket expense for any doctor's visit unless something serious happens and you hit your deductible. It somehow got more expensive in the following years while still offering bare bones coverage. The company touts being family-friendly but doesn't offer maternity or paternity leave. It's clear that upper management has 0 concern for its employees. Instead, they have a committee plan occasional "fun events", designed to appease job discontent instead of offering benefits that would actually improve the quality of life and morale of the company as a whole. Professionally, there is no structure for development. Reviews are arranged by your direct manager so if you have one that doesn't care about your professional development or growth, then you will remain stagnant. If you have a bad manager, you have no options since any attempts to discuss a manager's shortcoming will result in hostility. The worst part of working there though, was the morale, which continued to get worse as the lack of transparency from upper management created a very toxic workplace. People were targeted, bullied, and let go with no notice, and a lot of secrecy, creating an atmosphere of stress and fear, while others were promoted through blatant favoritism. Despite extremely high turnover, upper management refuses to acknowledge any issues or listen to their employees. There isn't an avenue to discuss employee concerns.
