Poor benefits options. No free time to focus on CAPEX because OPEX/legacy services in perpetual state of decay ("Is the uptime on that router 11 really years??")

The insurance is outrageous. The pay is not competitive or transparent, there appears to be no real pay scale, or top pay for technicians. The annual merit review process is a waste of everyone’s time because merit based raises are based on pre-determined budgets and “no one can exceed expectations”.
