Pros

Some genuinely lovely people work here who do a great job. I had experience of 3 stores all who had some great team members. Strong company ethics If you are an extrovert with bags of energy and a theatrical personality you'll probably do very well 50% discount Some free products, depending on which store you work for as all are independently managed You get your birthday paid and off if it's normally a day you would work Team bonuses if you reach target, about 10% of your normal pay Good for seasonal work as they hire lots of new staff for Christmas Career advancement possible if the face fits and prepared to relocate

Cons

Some genuinely poor managers with bad attitudes, they have no area managers so often this isn't picked up. Forget life work balance if you move up from sales assistant, unless you consider Lush your life (which many do) A properly trained and qualified HR team needed Lack of structure in company means inconsistent standards, practices and communication to and between stores Cliquey with a lot of favoritism seems to run throughout the company, much more than other places I've worked

Pros

Excellent inclusive company culture, employee discount, learning about natural ingredients for skincare, genuinely great and engaged team members, flexible work schedule for part time or casual positions.

Cons

High amount of work, unreasonable "evidence driven" feedback and coaching models, and unrealistic performance metrics for comically low pay, especially for floor coordinators. No additional pay given for specialty roles, which is many enhanced responsibilities over a specific area of the business, and little opportunity for career growth beyond the sales floor unless you are hired from an external management position. Floor Coordinator seems to be the highest rung most people can hit before being driven elsewhere.
