Pros
Benefits are decent, and you can take your dog to the office. The office is consistently packed with snacks, which is also a plus.
Cons
There were numerous instances with my previous manager and I don't understand how he had his job as long as he did! I was the only person in the office one morning and I was expected to handle Zendesk cases, monitor air control for the bike and scooter memberships, AND handle social media all while answering questions for the teams overseas. My manager also expected me to be able to understand what was happening with some legal situation that occurred over Twitter while I was out. I told him I felt overwhelmed and wasn't really able to text him while I was working. I'm also not much of a texter in general, so sometimes my texts can read short. However, he'd interacted with me enough to know that I'm a conversationalist in person. He waits 3 days to set up a 1:1 and tell me how to talk to people. And then, he said that if I was overwhelmed, we probably needed to look into my ability to do my job. Not to mention, he would constantly blame issues on me to my other teammates and they even complained and backed me up to HR. HR waited until I'd put in my notice and was conducting an exit interview to tell me that my manager was being investigated for his behavior. Keep in mind, my manager put in his notice the same week they were going to call him in for a meeting. It shouldn't have taken that long for them to take my complaints seriously. I was also the only Black person on the team....
