Pros
Autonomy, kind of. I mean you still have to work certain hours that they want you to work to get the bonuses. No boss. Not really. But you do have to deal with customer service chat which are mostly bots that are Super frustrating and don't listen to anything you have to say. So I guess the pros aren't really pros after all.
Cons
You have to buy another car every 2 to 3 years which might put you into debt. The pay is so low now that it's hard to even get by. Just save yourself and don't do this job unless you want to go into debt or bankruptcy within a few years. They try to say that we make $25 per hour but that isn't true. Rides end up taking way longer than they're supposed to which lowers the minimum pay due to traffic, passengers not being ready to enter the vehicle when you arrive, passengers taking forever to exit the vehicle. Also, lyft is sneaky and includes tips in that pay which are never guaranteed and they don't minus expenses. Expenses are way outrageous in the transportation industry. Just save yourself and don't do it.
