Pros
You get to set your own hours: work as much or little as needed up to 12 hours in a 15 hour window. You meet friendly clients and have fun conversations so it’s never dull or where you feel like you’re “punching a time clock”. You can take breaks when needed without having to check in . Lyft taught me to be an excellent driver and navigator using their GPS. Using direct pay you get paid after every fare so you don’t have to wait for payday! After 5 years driving is still as much fun as the very first day I started! Getting people safely to their destination is something any taxi driver can be proud of! Good benefits!
Cons
No 401k type savings nor contributions to Social Security. You will wear out your own vehicle in record time because of high mileage of daily driving. You can rent from Flexdrive but then you have to work 20-30 hours to pay lease fee so that leaves on average only 4 days a week to earn for your own expenses. Driving 10-12 hour shifts can be exhausting as it takes a lot of mental concentration to drive safely , especially during peak commuter hours!
