Pros

- Work schedule allows for a lot of time off/flexibility - Decent benefits - Co-workers generally competent and amiable, despite the working conditions and low morale

Cons

- Unequal treatment of work shifts/departments - Work environment can be extremely stressful - Low employee morale - Lack of effective organized employee training - Pay not as good as other EMS providers in the area - Lack of effective maintenance/engineering support on weekend shifts - No facilities personnel available on weekend shifts, often resulting in restrooms becoming unbearable/unusable due to toilets clogged with human waste, overfilled garbage bins in cafeteria and other unsightly/unsanitary conditions - Indifferent if not outright hostile attitude and policies towards employees by upper management and HR - Ineffective/indecisive middle management - Advancement opportunities are nearly non-existent - Company has infuriating vacation policy - one can apply for vacation time anywhere from 2-3 months to a YEAR in advance and yet still be denied

Pros

Was a good place to work for when it was family owed and operated. Plenty of overtime available.Company has implemented some good changes throughout the 10 yrs of my tenure, i.e. manufacturing has deskop computers with access to work instructions, barcoding. f=

Cons

HR responds to employees as if they are being bothered and it is an interruption in their day if an employee asks a question or needs their help. Working hours were cut from 8 a day to 6 for over a year with the promise of a state funded program to supplement this loss. The supplemental income was typically at whim and could not be counted on to arrive at regular intervals. For this company, its employees hours are cut at the beginning of the month and asked to work 12+ hours at the end of the month. Expected to work the OT at the end of the month is a better way to put it. How else are the employees to feed their families. This company has been on a down ward spiral for years and it appears to be gettting worse.
