Pros

Everyone is very friendly, there is good growth in the company as a whole. Because of its reputation in the community, I was hesitant to begin working here. Although I have been pleasantly surprised everyone is kind and fun to work with and there have been numerous events to show their appreciation for their workforce.

Cons

No 9/80 work schedules and I wish there was more paid time off during the winter holidays.

- Work schedule allows for a lot of time off/flexibility - Decent benefits - Co-workers generally competent and amiable, despite the working conditions and low morale

Cons

- Unequal treatment of work shifts/departments - Work environment can be extremely stressful - Low employee morale - Lack of effective organized employee training - Pay not as good as other EMS providers in the area - Lack of effective maintenance/engineering support on weekend shifts - No facilities personnel available on weekend shifts, often resulting in restrooms becoming unbearable/unusable due to toilets clogged with human waste, overfilled garbage bins in cafeteria and other unsightly/unsanitary conditions - Indifferent if not outright hostile attitude and policies towards employees by upper management and HR - Ineffective/indecisive middle management - Advancement opportunities are nearly non-existent - Company has infuriating vacation policy - one can apply for vacation time anywhere from 2-3 months to a YEAR in advance and yet still be denied
