Factory Worker - Factory Worker MI Windows and Doors Employee Review

Pros

The pay is decent once you max out. 17.50/hour is max price unless you cut glass. Supervisors are decent. If you bust your butt, you can grab a supervisor job at a young age. There are lots of younger people in charge.

Cons

0 work life balance. Overtime is all mandatory. I am currently working 50 plus hours a week and this is our slow season. We worked 10 hour days for the past year now. Weekends are mandatory, and often in the summer. There is no cap on work or hours. So if MI sells 35 thousand windows that week, we have to do whatever it takes to make 35 thousand windows, even though the company isn't equipped for that amount of work. They are trying to fix employee retention by doing away with points for calling off, but when people call off that just means I have to do twice the amount of work. Some jobs can be twice as hard as others, but it all pays the same.

Pros

- decent benefits - ok pay (not that competitive)

Cons

- They let unqualified people be in charge. - Always have to find something to do. - Promotions not common. - Pay could be better for workload.
