Pros
You will learn many things and may get involve with a project that you need to collaborate with many scholars with different backgrounds. Money was enough to survive in Cambridge or Boston without problems. The atmosphere is amazing with lots of talks and visitors from my field and related fields all the time.
Cons
You feel lots of pressure sometimes while working on different projects. Finding good restaurants around MIT is almost impossible
