Pros
sort of get to set your own schedule, meet people from all walks of life, coworkers are typically great, you will always have the reminder you are helping people in their last days, generally good benefits
Cons
management always wants more to meet quotas, they will allow some staff to under-perform out of fear of them leaving. you can't get PTO approved if someone else already requested it, having patients and families waiting to dial your phone at 8:59 am rather than speak with on-call staff, having to work through all the elements of New York - rain, snow, extreme heat - you're expected to make the quota of visits and carry all your supplies with you. some homes are very unsanitary and infested.
