Pros

Private healthcare is included, which is useful given the overall working environment. Colleagues at a peer level are genuinely supportive — largely because everyone is navigating the same challenges and relies on each other to get through it. The pace of work is fast and will quickly build resilience and a high tolerance for pressure. For those early in their careers, this can accelerate learning, albeit in demanding circumstances. The company had a significantly stronger culture prior to the MMGY acquisition; those who have been there longer will be aware of how much this has changed. There is now a clear shift towards US-led practices, which may suit some, but has noticeably altered the working environment.

Cons

There are some significant cultural and operational issues that need addressing. Staff are often made to feel like numbers rather than valued employees, with limited support in place. Concerns around bullying have been raised with HR, but there is a clear perception that these issues are not being taken seriously or acted upon effectively. Morale across the business is very low. It is not uncommon for conversations at lunch to revolve around people actively trying to leave, interviewing elsewhere, or expressing a strong desire to “get out.” This level of disengagement should be a concern. Staff turnover is notably high and appears to be above what would be considered normal. Dismissing this as typical attrition does not reflect the reality experienced by employees. The introduction of a four-day in-office policy was poorly received, with multiple concerns raised by staff. The communication itself—sent via email shortly before the Christmas break—felt poorly timed and did not allow for meaningful discussion. During a company-wide call in January, the CEO’s response to concerns, stating “if you don’t like it, get off the train and leave,” was perceived as dismissive and was a turning point for many employees. More broadly, there is a pattern where less positive updates—such as layoffs, compensation decisions, or policy changes—are communicated via email at times when employees are not in the office. This approach can come across as impersonal and avoids open dialogue, which further impacts trust and transparency. A clear divide exists between senior and junior staff, with junior team members in particular feeling undervalued and poorly treated. In addition, there is a tendency to overpromise to clients, which results in excessive workloads and contributes to burnout. Overall, there are serious issues around culture, leadership accountability, and employee wellbeing that require meaningful attention. Based on my experience, I would avoid this company at all costs.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We are pleased to see your positive comments about your colleagues and the opportunities to gain experience through the work. Those elements remain an important part of how we operate. We recognize that views on culture, leadership, and employee experience can differ across the organization. Topics such as support, engagement, and how employees experience day to day work continue to be reviewed as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen consistency and alignment across teams. Concerns related to workplace conduct and employee well-being are treated with importance, and there are established processes to review and address matters that are brought forward. We continue to assess how these processes are understood and applied across the business. We also understand that how information is communicated, including timing and format, influences how it is received. We are continuing to evaluate how updates are shared and how employees are able to engage in meaningful discussion. In addition, we remain focused on how work is managed across teams, including expectations, resourcing, and support for employees at all levels, as well as how career progression is structured. We hope that during your time with the company you felt able to raise concerns through your manager or HR, as direct communication plays an important role in addressing issues and supporting improvement. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback and remain focused on continued forward progress.

Pros

You learn very quickly how not to treat people and what not to do as a leader. Great place to motivate you to want better for yourself.

Cons

MMGY is private equity owned and from what I’ve seen MMGY checks all the boxes of the standard PE operating playbook, acquire, cut costs, slash pay and benefits, increased workloads, degrading culture, mass layoffs, then sell at profit at the end. PE ownership is generally bad for employees by design. The incentive structure prioritizes investor returns over people and the cycle usually isn’t long enough for them to invest in staff. The CEO’s message on this was made clear in an all company meeting, if you don't like it, leave. This statement is the opposite of leadership, it’s complete indifference to how staff feels or that they might have any concerns. It’s someone who's run out of answers and stopped pretending to care. If you are reading this because your company was just acquired by MMGY, I’d run fast.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We're sorry to hear that your experience has led you to feel this way. It's clear from your comments that you have concerns about the direction of the company, leadership decisions, and the impact those decisions have on employees. While we recognize that not everyone will agree with every decision that is made, we believe it's important to acknowledge that there are often many factors that influence business decisions, and employees may not always have visibility into the full context behind them. You also referenced remarks made during a company-wide meeting. We understand that messages shared during periods of change can be interpreted in different ways, particularly when viewed through the lens of personal experience. Our intention is always to communicate openly and transparently, even when the topics being discussed are difficult or complex. Regarding your comments about private equity ownership and its impact on the business, MMGY Global has operated under private equity ownership for many years, and throughout that time we have continued to invest in our people, serve our clients, grow our capabilities, and expand our global footprint. While there may be differing opinions about ownership structures and business strategy, our focus remains on building a strong, sustainable organization for our employees, clients, and partners. As a current employee, we encourage you to continue sharing your concerns with your manager, HR representative, or COE leader. Open and constructive dialogue remains one of the most important ways we can better understand employee perspectives and continue moving forward together. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
