Pros

It's funny the common theme is how great the people that work here are. Because they are. It's really sad how GLT doesn't appreciate their dwindling talent.

Cons

The business headwinds are real. Nobody is denying that. But 'soft years' has become the excuse for everything, including problems that have nothing to do with the travel industry. Talent drain and rock bottom morale aren't caused by geopolitics. That's a leadership problem, not a market problem. And you can't pressure burnt out people into being enthusiastic ambassadors for a company they've stopped believing in. It doesn't work that way. And lately there are alot of us that are demoralized and searching for new jobs at lunch.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your recognition of the people across the organization and the role they play in delivering strong work and supporting one another. We are aware that perceptions around culture and morale can shift over time and are influenced by a variety of factors, including workload, career development, and organizational change. Feedback related to these areas, as well as how input is reflected in decision making, continues to be reviewed as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the overall employee experience. We also recognize that business conditions and internal decisions require clarity and consistency in how they are communicated. Our leadership team remains focused on guiding the organization forward while continuing to evaluate how we support employees, recognize contributions, and create meaningful opportunities for growth. We encourage employees to share feedback and raise questions directly with their HR representative so concerns can be discussed and addressed constructively. We appreciate the perspective shared and remain focused on continued progress.

Pros

You learn very quickly how not to treat people and what not to do as a leader. Great place to motivate you to want better for yourself.

Cons

MMGY is private equity owned and from what I’ve seen MMGY checks all the boxes of the standard PE operating playbook, acquire, cut costs, slash pay and benefits, increased workloads, degrading culture, mass layoffs, then sell at profit at the end. PE ownership is generally bad for employees by design. The incentive structure prioritizes investor returns over people and the cycle usually isn’t long enough for them to invest in staff. The CEO’s message on this was made clear in an all company meeting, if you don't like it, leave. This statement is the opposite of leadership, it’s complete indifference to how staff feels or that they might have any concerns. It’s someone who's run out of answers and stopped pretending to care. If you are reading this because your company was just acquired by MMGY, I’d run fast.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We're sorry to hear that your experience has led you to feel this way. It's clear from your comments that you have concerns about the direction of the company, leadership decisions, and the impact those decisions have on employees. While we recognize that not everyone will agree with every decision that is made, we believe it's important to acknowledge that there are often many factors that influence business decisions, and employees may not always have visibility into the full context behind them. You also referenced remarks made during a company-wide meeting. We understand that messages shared during periods of change can be interpreted in different ways, particularly when viewed through the lens of personal experience. Our intention is always to communicate openly and transparently, even when the topics being discussed are difficult or complex. Regarding your comments about private equity ownership and its impact on the business, MMGY Global has operated under private equity ownership for many years, and throughout that time we have continued to invest in our people, serve our clients, grow our capabilities, and expand our global footprint. While there may be differing opinions about ownership structures and business strategy, our focus remains on building a strong, sustainable organization for our employees, clients, and partners. As a current employee, we encourage you to continue sharing your concerns with your manager, HR representative, or COE leader. Open and constructive dialogue remains one of the most important ways we can better understand employee perspectives and continue moving forward together. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
