Pros

Very fun atmosphere, the team members are great, the GM is the best; she understands that there is life outside that has to be dealt with, so she is flexible with schedules and works around the needs of her employees and supports them vigorously. Very positive people. They promote from within, plenty of opportunity. You can work your way up to your own store fairly quickly.

Cons

Mid managers are untested and frequently do not know how to talk to the team members in order to inspire the correct motivation. They also send mixed messages regarding store/employee standards and manager-friends are treated differently than the rest of the team which can be demoralizing. The fact that these stores are a franchise and not part of the corporation means that as a team member there are not any fringe benefits like there are in other states. One major thing is no health insurance. There is no company-wide support, like the MOD portal and the tuition help, or the other company assistance programs. Also, because it is a franchise, there is no where to go after General Manager of your own store (supposing they open a new one), as the DM is appointed by the franchise owners and is unlikely to change.

Pros

Fun place to work, fast paced environment, often pleasant coworkers, flexible schedule, decent tips, great location.

Cons

Original family that started the chain had to sell (2004). The corporation that bought it seems to be trying to run it into the ground. Took away benefits and perks from employees, swapped out higher quality products for cheap, low quality products, and to cut their own costs down, won't allow enough team members to work a shift, leaving us short handed and overworked. Customers paid the price by having excessive wait times for their food and frequently walked out. It was embarrassing! Our store didn't have a manager for a full year, which only added fuel to the fire. What started out as one of my favorite jobs of all time turned into nothing less than a nightmare.
