Pros
When I first started at MOD, they were focused on their people - every employee mattered, every employee had a place to grow, everyone got a second (or third, or fourth!) chance. Everyone had a place they could be themselves and thrive.
Cons
Unfortunately, through the years, MODs "people first" view has begun to change. Now it seems the company is focused only on growing their store numbers, without any thought towards how that might affect their employees. The Support Center departments are struggling, the employees stagnating with nowhere to grow (Funny, Growth is supposed to be one of their core values!), and instead of being people first, it's "numbers first". There is no longer the same family feeling in the company that there once was, there is no longer a place for people to learn at their own rate or be themselves. They will take and take everything you have to give, and you'll give it, because you think they care about you, because you think they're family, because you think you're working for MORE than "just pizza". Then, they spit you back out when you're no longer "useful" (despite being fully capable of your job) and leave you wondering how you've managed to waste X years at a company that fed you lies over and over again. I have seen amazing people (incredible workers too!) become burnt out, beat down, and exhausted by the constant love-sandwiches that MOD gives you - "you're not good enough" is surrounded by Support Center "Happy Hours" and "MOD Love" notes. It begins to feel like an abusive relationship, and despite how hard it is to leave after years and years of investing myself into the company, it's healthier, better, and most of all - important. It's important to me that the MOD team sees this, it's important to me that they know that even after all this, I wish them the best, because I believe they are trying to do something different. But it's also important to me that they see this post, and that they might begin to understand where their choices are leading them - not to the perfect "flywheel" they think they're approaching, but to becoming just like every other corporate entity out there. They are not different anymore. They are not "family", and they do not always have your best interests in mind. They will daze you with future "opportunities" with them, they will win you over with their core values (Grit, Growth, Generosity, Gratitude), and then they will fail you. Don't get me wrong, they don't fail everyone, but after 5+ years with the company, I have seen my share of failures, which far outnumber the successes. Do not assume that you are part of the small percentage that *they* decide will succeed. Do not assume that you are not being used to further their own corporate needs.
