Pros

A great company that offers good career opportunities. They’re about average sized with a good number of employees, and the department sizes are more than manageable. Plus, there’s plenty of room to work your way up the ladder if you’re very ambitious. If you aren’t on the ambitious side, then you’ve got job security, great pay, decent hours, and reasonable expectations to look forward to. You’ll never be asked to do more than was outlined in your job duties when you were first hired on. That’s what I love about it and that’s why I have no intention of leaving anytime soon.

Cons

Every now and then you get on a call with someone who you can just tell is going to do everything to make you miserable. At the end of the day, management will always have your back. But that doesn’t make these calls any more fun. They’re awful and I hate when they happen.

Pros

This review applies to internal staff, not to those who work for the State of Michigan. Great culture of teamwork and camaraderie. Good office culture, decent benefits, and flexible remote work options. Really varies with your leader.

Cons

The leadership is naive (especially the C-suite) - they think they know everything but rarely listen to staff. They pay themselves very well, while staff members, at times, struggle to receive proper compensation. This difference may at times be based on how you are funded. There are some personalities (in leadership and those who influence) that are toxic, seek to exclude, create in-groups and out-groups, division, and manipulate it. At times, those in leadership acquiesce to these personalities.
