Cons
Honestly, most of the problems came from management. Upper management handled the recent merger terribly, and after that everything seemed to slowly fall apart. The office atmosphere felt miserable. People were constantly overworked, underappreciated, and managed by supervisors who often seemed to get their positions through favoritism rather than actual ability.
The whole culture felt like a boys’ club. Layoffs happened regularly, and instead of bringing in fresh talent, they usually just shuffled people around internally within MW. As the company started losing money, management’s attempts to fix things only made customers more frustrated and led to even more layoffs.
One situation that really summed things up for me was being reprimanded by upper management for doing something plant management had specifically instructed me to do. Moments like that made it obvious there was basically no communication or alignment between upper and middle management.
