Pros
The people are the biggest pro. It's refreshing to work in a company where the employees are passionate about the company mission - to help students learn. That said, the benefits are a close second - fantastic package w/many insurance options and generous vacation.
I've found the organization to be very flat, with folks open to new ideas and suggestions; also, they promote from within.
The research that goes into the products is impressive and the company is trying to be more innovative,
The offices have good perks, like free coffee. I know it's a little thing but it's ultra convenient and makes life easier. They're also in great locations (1NY plaza has a lot of public transportation and food options.) There are also regular employee events.
Cons
The salary could be better. But this is not uncommon in the education/publishing industry.
They could be considered a fast-follower when it comes to edtech . They're doing better in terms of research/innovation lately though.)
