Pros

Potential for money is good

Cons

Management hand picks who gets good leads, The scheduling center is incentivized by getting the salespeople in the door. They don’t care about the customers. They intentionally won’t tell a sales rep the customer called to cancel so they don’t lose their bonus. Sales reps are constantly showing up to houses that called to cancel. Management makes threats weekly to try to intimidate the sales force. Job security doesn’t exist and neither does work/life balance. If money is all that matters to you, this may be the job for you.

Pros

Money. And that's it. You have to wait months for commissions since you aren't paid until after the jobs are installed which is often 6 months later.

Cons

You make money but they give you ZERO transparency on what expenses are built into a job. They hope that since it's a big check, you will just be happy and won't care they skim hundreds of dollars off of each job. Expect 12-14 hour days with 3 days off every two weeks. You will probably put 50k miles on your car each year, and they are happy to send you 2 hours away. You will get a ton of no-shows and last-minute, same day appointments that will make you scream. They have no problem sending you all over, burning your own gas and destroying your car but you only get a mileage reimbursement if you hit certain closing percentages. I was a high producer and made over $300k/yr but still only earned my mileage reimbursement like 6 or 7 times. The dispatch department is PURE EVIL and they made me question all of my life decisions. Mad City is such a bad place to work, that I actually walked away from $300k/yr with no job lined up because I was going to end up in a mental hospital if I didn't.
