Pros

I can't think of a single one

Cons

Where to start? I worked at this place for close to ten months on a temporary contract in which it was stated that this could go permanent. I worked hard in this role as I learned new thing and assisted all the analysts with various tasks as I wanted to learn more and to be trained on new roles and was told repeatedly no. I also took on other roles and things that were beyond my scope in this contract (ex: reaching out to the suppliers to verify information, etc). At the beginning of November I am told my hours are being cut as someone else is coming in to fill my role. I had spent the last 10 months of my life for nothing. And the person they hired was barely out of college and I am 50 years old. So I also think there is age discrimination going on as I wasn't considered the job because of my "lack of accounting background". What does that even mean? I performed the role to the letter, was always on time, missed 1 day in 10 months (and my husband was in the hospital because of that) and was always getting work done on time. So.. why was I replaced? Trust me. Unless you want to get into a nest of people who can't tell you the truth and you're always looking over your shoulder.. seek employment elsewhere

Pros

Ability to work with FAANG company with opportunity for transition to FTE. Very responsive team to any questions.

Cons

Contract work, so role may or may not be renewed depending on company needs. Not really a con, just the nature of the job. Very few PTO days.

Pros

They pay you regularly - that is about it

Cons

They are only interested in their own bottom line and explained nothing to me when I was brought in by their client for a contract but needed to be paid and actually employed via Magnit. They employed me as a W2 and I didn't realize it was an option to go in as a contract 1099 - which would have increase my net significantly, since I have an LLC set up and have been doing taxes as self employed for several years. They didn't let me know that I should be on benefits and sent me no paperwork to enroll. The amount of money they saved from me not collecting benefits is terrible along with what I was paying for healthcare etc. I have to leave the client early because of the issues with Magnit even though they would like me to stay for an additional year.
