Pros

I have learned a lot durning my time at blur, however mainly through bad experiences. The concept itself is great if it would be managed appropriately and not only used to "suck" cash out of customers and suppliers pockets. One of the few positives out of all this is the opportunity I had, to work with some great people, and thank God most of them have left the business already, and hopefully the ones left in there will follow the escapees soon.

Cons

I don't even know where to start: Staff members are asked to come in before their normal starting time (for a ridiculous stand up meeting) and expected to work overtime without any remuneration (you are lucky if you hear a "thank you" at the end of the day) Employees are being shout and sworn at in front of others and treated in the most discouraging and disrespectful way possible by line managers and senior management. I am disgusted by senior management's lack of respect for others. Staff are being ultra micro-managed, and not allowed to think for themselves. All they want is people to execute orders without asking any questions, then held responsible for the poor outcomes. I have seen a ridiculous number of people leaving and very few coming in to replace them. The business reckons that as the platform is becoming automated, less people are needed to run it and therefore made redundant, however daily users of the website are sometimes unable to perform the easiest tasks, as resetting a password, without support. Most of the customers are disappointed with the company's misleading practices, and numerous fees they are being charged, as their projects rarely get to fruition. On the other hand, service providers are expected to invest a lot of time and effort when pitching and most of the time see no benefit of this. There is no infrastructure "behind the scenes" to support the various packages and plans, buyers and sellers are being asked to subscribe to. Numbers are constantly pumped up and under no circumstances reflect the sad reality behind these. I have witnessed some of the most shocking ways of increasing the numbers of projects showcased on the website, sometimes without even the customer's agreement for their requirements to go public. I would be very surprised to see the company still exists, in 6 months time.

Pros

It is very refreshing that everyone cares about contributing to the company, our customers and our Experts in a positive way. Leadership gives employees the opportunity to stretch their skills and grow in areas of interest. blur Group is a growing company that values the different backgrounds, experience, talents and interests of its employees. There is a great culture of team-work unlike anywhere else I have worked. You get to learn so much about many different areas of business so no day or project is ever the same.

Cons

This is a growing company so processes are always evolving. This can be a positive because it means that process are constantly being evaluated and changed if need be. If you like processes to be black and white and get frustrated by changes to process, this might present a challenge.
