Pros

People are mostly good to work with and live sports television is entertaining to work in at times. Top of the line technology.

Cons

MLB Network was a great place to work but over the past couple years you saw a steady decline is morale and work life balance. Recently, management has performed a restructuring and in doing so made the production and post production job paths undesirable. They've done this by taking away any video editing or post production title thus making everyone under the production model. This basically makes video editors into producer editors and thus they can make you ineligible for overtime pay and thus work their editors to the bone. This combined with the grueling year around schedule, (Remember MLB acquired NHL Network so now you have a year around terrible schedule), can easily burn out anyone. Now, say you want to become a producer. Only three people have left a producer role at MLB Network since it's inception in 2009. It's the cushiest job in the industry and at this point would take someone 10 to 15 years to get to that point. In the meantime you will be put through a frat club production of hazing with long hours and thankless projects. Oh and I almost forgot, MLB Network has never had a woman producer in its history and that says a lot about the network management and on air content. I also forgot to mention the location is awful and if you're a young woman you most likely will get harassed by on air talent or by someone with a foot fetish. I wish I was joking.

Pros

Great fast paced job environment. Everyone there truly wants to be there. If you love baseball just a great place to be.

Cons

Management is very poor. Upper management in Production is a very “bro” environment. If you go drinking and play golf and can hang with the “bros” you are taken care of. Not at all great with females or diverse people. Very non diverse and extremely misogynistic environment. People, especially the head person(s) in production, would be suspended or fired in another less dysfunctional company. Also the leaders are really out of touch with what goes on below them. They rely heavily on middle management to run things while they hide from the decisions and responsibilities. I also found the HR dept to be specifically out of touch with the staff, what they do daily, and who is doing the actual work.
