Pros
CEO is a down-to-earth good guy. Free lunches are really good. Gym and Pickleball courts. Health Insurance with no premiums (basic plan). Fun Parties. Some really awesome coworkers. Can be a fun work environment. I had a great direct manager that I enjoyed working with and really enjoyed some of my coworkers.
Cons
I joined at the beginning of a company nosedive that I was unaware of. Many big promises were made to me when I was hired, but it turned out to be something totally different. I made sacrifices and gave up opportunities out of loyalty and belief in what we were building. When layoffs came without warning after a trip they proved to me they didn't care. Everyone raved about the culture, but so much of their "culture" is parties and fluff. When it comes down to it and times get tough they show their true colors. Many employees are grossly underpaid and expected to go above and beyond without compensation or recognition. When you transfer to a new position within the company, if it is not a direct promotion you don't get the salary bump for the new position until after 6 months. They claim to have an amazing benefits package that is actually just a basic and at times below average benefit package. HR can be very rude at times and show that they really just don't care about most employees. On top of that, they seem to be goofing off half of the day. Management does not know how to measure the value of performance in any meaningful way and is quick to blame someone else for failures. When it came time for layoffs, there was little to no support with minimal to no severance for employees impacted.
