Pros

The pay is the only good thing about this job.

Cons

Everything else. Management sucks. Nursing staff also sucks. There is a lot of drama. They have no intent to do the reform of prison. They want anyone and everyone to walk and there and treat them like they are scum on the bottom of our shoes. If you treat them with any sort of respect it’s establishing. It’s literally 5 yr olds running a prison and high school drama CONSTANTLY. They will fire you for absolutely anything and everything they can that’s probably why their turn over rate is so high.

Pros

The company is out there working to be a force for good in the world. Being a part of that is awesome.

Cons

They don’t not pay well enough across the board. Being in the role I was, I saw everyone’s salaries. For the work required, the pay is not nearly enough. Which also means that with lower salaries, you attract lower quality (generally) talent which translates to a lower quality work experience.
