Pros

Coworkers are for the most part good people and supportive

Cons

Where do I begin.....One of the most poorly run facilities that has already lost another CEO, the last one was involved in stealing money from the company. Management will sacrifice patient safety and well-being over profit. The managers refuse to put adequate staffing on the floors, leaving RNs to basically function as CNAs, secretaries and sitters with 6 patients on med surg. Some units managers force the charge nurse to take a full assignment as well and leave them with bare bones staffing that is unsafe. It has gotten worse every year I've been here. The patients aren't the problem....it's the higher ups who rarely step foot on the patient care units. Nurses are shown little to no respect and are constantly being criticized, threatened and blamed. Our input is ignored.

Pros

Co workers are amazing and are what keep most of us there. Close to my home

Cons

Management and higher ups are unhelpful and do nothing to help with short staffing and nurse and patient safety. They are more worried about lining their pockets than safely staffing the units or paying adequately. They will pay huge sign on bonuses to under qualified nurses and refuse to pay retention bonuses to the rest of the staff left picking up the pieces when they make mistakes or leave as soon as their contract is up. Everything is broken, ceilings are always leaking, toilets backed up and smell of sewage, one of the elevators was out for order for 2+ years while they kept building freestanding ERs.
